Yesterday. Sun was shining. Clear blue sky, well, just a few white fluffy clouds around but nothing to worry about. Nipped off on Cubbie to visit club member Doug, he of the snapped Achilles tendon, and post some letters. The medication Doug is on must be strong for he actually said something nice about Cubbie! Had a great run there and back, Cubbie was going well, and we even overtook two cars on the way home. Ok, so one of them slowed to let me pass, but I think it was the image of Cubbie's blazing headlight in their mirror that scared them into submission.
I still can't believe that I can ride around all day long and have the lights on, all thanks to Doc Jim.
Also found time to do some fencing and start creosoting some shed bits. Took blind Gollum for a walk too. When the sun shines, it's all go down on the farm.
Sorry I've been a bit quiet of late, but this book writing lark is harder and more time consuming than you might think.

Sounds like a great day on the farm. How did he snap his achilles tendon? Tht sounds extremely painful.
So whats the bok and when will we see it?
BOOK WRITING??? Did I miss a post with that explanation? You go girl....just hope the faithful blog readers get a discount on the first edition... ;-)

Hehe, no you didn't miss a post Bob, I've been toiling away getting a head start before I mentioned it. It's John's fault 'cos he kept on about "when is the Cubbies Counties book coming out..." so I thought I'd do one, detailing the full story of where I've been and info behind the places I've visited. Sort of travel / classic biking / history / general Scottish interest.
DISCOUNT? Don't you swear at me!
Get snapping those pics, wouldn't mind a preview if you've a mind to send a couple over ;-)
Darrell, Doug has a BSA 441, nasty high compression beast, and one day it just kicked back and snap! Apparently it isn't too painful, but will keep him out of action for many months.
Well if your books anything like your magazine articles it should be pretty good. Will you be selling signed editions to the faithful
kawa
DISCOUNT? Don't you swear at me!

Bummer about Dougs bike and the tendon. I can't kickstart anything, my knees are too beat up for that.
And by the way "discount" isn't a dirty word. Your loyal fans await the first edition of "Cubbies Counties, or There and Back again: A Tiger Cubs Holiday."
Oh, BigBob, where are you?
Oh, BigBob, where are you?

I'll be having a copy of that then when its done .....oh yes
can hardly wait .......
Hello Gorgeeous, may I call you Chick for short? Just seen your article in Old Bike Mart. I wondered where you had disappeared to from Classic Bike Guide,it's gone downhill since the new gaffer took over. I think the "Cubbies Counties" project is great how about doing England next. Looking forward to the book, Stuart
Hello Stuart, yep, OBM is my new home, and I kinda like it there. Thanks for your comment about Cubbies Counties, I'm really enjoying it, and have more counties lined up for this weekend - and it looks like I might just reach that magic £2000 total before May! Who knows what challenge I'll set next - will it be England...or perhaps the Very Long and Slow Way to Anywhere...watch this space...
So that's 5 copies of the book ordered then. Great stuff chaps!
Good to hear from you, make sure you bookmark this very page.
PS, you can call me GBC ;-)
