Well there y'are. Some place called London under 10 feet of snow yesterday, all the forecasters said it would hit Scotland early this morning. So where is it? Rain, rain, rain is where it is. Couldn't resist adding John's (he's the one from bikeshite.com) contribution to the Winter Photo Competition - hope you like the 'before' and 'after' theme.

Hmm..snow?..snow?....I know I've heard of that....
That snowman is not quite as , uh, 'rotund' as we make'm over here...lol

I assume Scandanavia and Canada just shut down all their businesses and schools for the whole winter?
When I lived in Sussex, England some 20 years ago, we often had to dig the snow away from the door, so that we could open it. Obviously we had another door on the other side of the house, before you ask. I also remember riding my pony over the top of fences in the snow drifts ( not to be recommended, unless of a certain disposition) but the world didn't stop, the pubs stayed open. So what's happened, have they all gone soft in my absence? Maybe it's inbreeding.
BigBob...I think the snowman was something of a self portrait...
Hey Mrs B.C.,
Did your doors open out the way in England then ?
Anyway they have always been softer have they not.
Anon - Because you`l Skelp my lug.
A nice wee birdie told me cubbie is getting the wanderlust again and getting revved up,is this true?
Slick.
Outside doors openend outwards, and inside doors opened inwards unless there was something in the way - like a piece of Chippendale, that's the furniture designer mannie, not the one with the body. I think someone once explained the logic of this, but I canna mind now what it was.
Just realised, if you had a ton of snow against the door and you opened it, the snow would end up on the carpet!!! Anyway, it looks like there'll be some snow shovelling to do here today. Expect some pics of views from the windows first thing later.
Do I live in the only part of the UK that hasn't had snow this week.
And we are only 35 miles from the Glenshee ski slopes
Yeah Shorty, looks like you missed out again. Shame eh.
