Vintage motorcycles parade in north-east
Aden Country Park at Mintlaw plays host to the plus one rally event

DOZENS of vintage motorcycles roared into the grounds of a north-east park yesterday.
About 45 machines, owned by members of the Vintage Motor Cycle Club (VMCC), were paraded at Aden Country Park as part of a fledgling rally event.
The Plus One, which is now in its second year, saw riders set up base at the Mintlaw tourist attraction after touring Aberdeenshire earlier in the day.
Bill Falconer, chairman of the north-east Scotland branch of the VMCC, said the event had grown since its debut outing last year. He said: “Last weekend we had the Strathendrick and Trossachs Rally and this weekend it’s the National Rally at Blairgowrie so this gives the members something to do in between.
“We had about 30 bikes involved last year and 45 here this time so it’s certainly growing and we hope things continue to improve.”
The group left Aden Country Park about 10am yesterday and travelled south towards Collieston then across to Inverurie, before returning to the park at around 4pm.

no mention of the 2 people who spent endless hours round the kitchen table planning, organising & fretting when people who had promised help & equipment left it to the 11th hour to confirm it was going to happen tho eh. WELL DONE GBC & MRS BC & ALL THE OTHER HELPERS with out people like yourselves slogging away organising & cajoling we wouldn't have such events, thats why I got so annoyed when someone commented "you don't like work" even if it was meant to be joshing when someone works like you it ain't no joke.right soapbox is free now if any one else wants it.
Course not, those two people were out doing the breakdown service!
Thanks for your comment MFM.
45 machines...sounds like a grand parade. Congratulations on the event. (It's probably just me...but as I read Bill Falconer's quote, I imagine him sounding like Sean Connery and wearing a wooly sweater...must be all those rrr's in the last sentences...either that or the sun's getting to me...)
Hairy Larry
Sounds like everything went well with a great turnout.
