Welcome all ye MZers...

Just having a quick read of 'Thistledown', the newsletter for all things MZ in Scotland - thanks for the link to the blog and also the Ivan Rhodes mention. Welcome to any new faces who might have popped in for a look.....feel free to browse around the archived links on the left (might need to scroll down a bit) and there are a few slide shows that might be of interest too.

Would love to hear your MZ stories, mainly 'cos I know that where there is an MZer, there is a tale to be told. Share it with us, please.

Go on, leave a comment an' all - if you can. Having a bit of bother with the Blogger comment system of late, hopefully sorted now.

What sort of MZ stories would you like? Ones like my ride round the country roads of Renfrewshire and Ayrshire at the weekend, on my MZ with its new tyres and powdercoated wheels. Or would you prefer tales of MZs mouldering in sheds, abandoned and neglected, while their owners waste their time on other bikes?

Passed my test on an MZ 125,next bike was then a MZ TS 250.Excellent fun, throttle on the stop, 70 mph everywhere, eastern bloc 2 stroke heaven.Insurance was £25 a year for the 125, I suddenly feel ancient!

£25 a year for insurance!!! I wouldn't even like to think how much it is for that Triumph of yours!

Can't say there are many MZ's around these parts...at least in Sacramento....closest thing in my shed is a 50's NSU Superfox 125. Needs a complete exhaust system. If I could find a threaded exhaust ring to fit it I'd probably cobble together an exhaust system for it. An interesting bike, with an eccentric rod driven overhead cam. Supposed to get 80 plus mpg. First to get it running. Hairy Larry

I remember MZs from a aways back looking like bricks on wheels. Design wasn't a big issue back then I guess.

Looks like they've come a long way judging by Kawas Skorpion from the write-up he did. Nice looking bike.

Due to the fact I am an oldish git, it won't be too horrendous although to add it to my policy for the last month before renewal cost more than a year on MZ125.Was gonna leave it in the shed for a month but I couldnt do it(oh c'mon could you?).May sell B31 and get an MZ and some beer.

"May sell B31 and get an MZ and some beer." Tee hee, sounds like a good plan all round ;-))

And if I buy an MZ there would be enough left to buy GBC and you all a beer or 2. Getting it to you could be a bit of a logistical nightmare so I'll think of you as I am drinking it,hic xx
