First lambies of the year.

Pear Drops (aka PD) is the first to pop - this is her ewe lamb born early this afternoon, a wee ram lamb joined the party a couple of hours later. Just been out and got them in to their nice snug pen in the steading - company for Blind Old Golly and Cubbie.

For those who think I just sit around every day painting my nails, you're wrong, I only do that every second day. Did a spot of digging today, Mrs BC will be planting the tatties very soon so I need to get this finished.

And my toe still hurts.

I knew you didn't paint your nails everyday. If you did the paint would be so thick...
So, now that you have some lamb, when is the big cook-out?

Mrs BC was mucking the sheep pen out in preparation for the lambs....I'd rather do the digging... no pun intended, but we muck in and get things done between us...when I'm not off riding around the beautiful Scottish countryside on my lovely old Cubbie...

Darrell! Can't eat these poor wee things! We've got some mutton in the freezer if you fancy a bit...or wait til the autumn for some mature lamb then...

The main reason you don't know what I'm doing is because this isn't my blog. When I can find the time after running the farm, growing the veggies (apart from the odd bit of digging when I apear to have put my back out climbing over fences to plant trees) helping to run and organise two bike clubs, acting as proof reader and general P.A to GBC., doing the odd bit of house cleaning, cooking, washing etc., etc., and after I've kept up with the football and other sport, I will have my own blog. Then you can catch up with everything I do on a daily basis in beautiful technicolour and thought provoking prose. Meantime, where on earth did I put that nail polish???
If you manage to come over Darrell, you could pop in and share a lamb or mutton supper with
us. Just make sure it's not during lambing or shearing, or you may get roped in to help. Bring old togs.

None yet Kwak. Don't worry, tatties come with arrows on them so we know which way to plant them.

Great seeing you again and meeting Mrs BC Last week (looking forward to munching into some of that mutton when I get back, that's if there is any left).

Finally managed to get caught up with the blog after months of being off-line. Great read and pics, only 4 more to go, I'm sure you will manage to complete before the end of May no probs. With this as near as done; What is next I wonder ?

Hi Linds, great to have you back on the blog. Glad you enjoyed the read. I have a few plans in mind for the summer....but maybe I ought to get the Cubbies Counties book written first...or it'll never get done!

We'll have plenty more mutton in store for you upon your return. Have a good trip.

Hi Lindsay, Yes, it was great to meet someone with a brain and start putting the world to rights. I should have told you that some of the chops were separate and would have thawed out very quickly. Sorry!

ha ha ha I'm sure there are more than a few who would disagree with you there Mrs BC. But flattery always works.

Had the slaves (read kids) bung the whole lot in the freezer while you were getting rained on so the chops should be OK.

See you guys in the summer for the shed party ;o)
